POLAND - 120 MW in wind energy - under development

Poland has significant RES-E (Renewable Energy Sources - Electricity) potential, a support scheme in place and a dynamic economical environment. In Poland, the support scheme for renewable energy is comprised of a quota obligation mechanism combined with a Green Certificate trading system, which is awarded to green energy producers. Registered producers of RES-E are exempt from the electricity production tax as well as all RES-E technologies are eligible for tax exemption.

In 2010 the total installed capacity of wind energy in Poland reached 1 GW. To reach the 2020 quota assumed by Poland in its National Renewable Energy Action Plan, a total of around 9 GW would have to be installed in wind energy alone.

Renovatio's approach on the Polish market is green-field development of small and medium size projects, with the intention that the small projects will become a part of Renovatio's operating asset portfolio, while the medium sized projects are to be marketed to interested investors. At the moment Renovatio is developing a pipeline of 120 MW in wind energy. The projects are being developed by Renovatio Power Poland, the local development vehicle.
